Inscribed (almost illegible):
בני ברק יושבי' ודורשים/ על ... ועל הנסים
“(In) Benei Beraq (they) sit and discuss the … and the miracles.”
Below: A rabbi sitting and arguing with another man standing in front of him.
Inscribed:
ר' אליעזר ובן זומא/ דורשי' יציא' מצרימה
“Rabbi Eli‘ezer (!) and Ben Zoma expound the Exodus from Egypt.”
Lower margin: Pharaoh’s daughter, crowned and clad in gold, holding the open ark with the infant Moses in it. She hands it to Miriam, who stands in front of her. On the left stands Jochebed, on the right are five maidens.
Inscribed near Pharaoh’s daughter:
ותפתח את התבה ותראהו/ ותאמר מילדי העברים הוא
“She opened the ark, saw him and said: ‘this is one of the Hebrews’ children’.” (≠ Ex. 2:6)
Near Miriam:
מרים ראה (!) הדבר והלכה/ וקראה אם הילד בציווי המלכה
“Miriam saw this and went, and called the mother of the child at the queen’s command.”
