Description

The vestibule of the Great Synagogue in Bârlad contains eleven painted wooden panels depicting holy places and other sites in the Land of Israel, as well as emblems of some of the tribes of Israel. These panels are affixed to an upper tier wall made to appear as an arch dividing the vestibule space.
