20 Description The picture represents a landscape with a green tomb and yellow Menorah placed in the foreground. The big inscription in square Hebrew letters (Amru le Elohim) on the facing wall of the tomb inside the light semicircle. Menorah resembling a tree stands on the right before the tomb. Gently sloping hills are depicted in the background. The sun and the waning moon are set in the left upper corner of the composition against a background the dark-blue sky.

The picture is executed after the painting of the artist "The tomb of Israeli soldier" (1963) representing unprecedented interpretation of this theme in Russian art at that time. The words "Amru le Elohim" represent piyyut for the morning prayer in the Day of Atonement.
