20 Remarks
20 Description The semi-abstract and flat sculpture has three components: Isaac, the ram, and two mourning women. The dead Isaac is represented by a round, peaceful, closed-eyed face, lying on the ground, facing the sky. The menacing ram, towering above Isaac, is represented by a horned beastly face that connotes devilish representations from western tradition. The two mourning women are standing side by side, their bodies are united into a single robed figure with two mourning faces. Ma .4507

36 Summary and Remarks
According to the artist, Isaac symbolizes "the son who died in vain"; the mourning figures are the mothers who let their sons die, replacing the traditional image and role of Abraham; the triumphant ram is pitiless and indifferent, a symbol of coincidental fate that caused the boy's death (Restany, Kadishman, 1996, pp. ?).
