20 Description The silver Torah shield is rectangular, terminating with a semi circular arch. It consists of a plate. The Tables of Covenant are depicted in the center and are inscribed with the opening words of the Decalogue. Above the Tablets is a pair of blessing hands, surmounted by a crown. At the bottom are two lions couchant which flank a branch which splits into a "v" and frames the tablets. A flower is located in their center directly below the tablets. Two pillars decorated with a potted flower plant flank and topped by rampant unicorns flank the composition. A dedicatory inscription is located in the arch the square linear letters read: "נדבה אישה דאבע לבהמ'ד )לבית המדרש( הניקרא קלוז עבור נשמת בעלה דוד הארשטיין"## "Donated by the woman Dobe to the Beit Midrash that is called Kloyz for the soul of her husband David Hershtein." A foliate scroll frames the shield. A hanging chain is attached by two holes in the back.
