The silver Torah shield is rectangular and terminates with a semi circular arch. A round medallion bearing an inscription written in full square letters is depicted in the center, and reads:

בשנת / תרל"ט לפ"ק / נאם מרדכי דוב / בר בן מנחם / נחם

"In the year /1879/ spoke Mordehai Dov /son of Menahem/ Nahum".

The inscription is surmounted by two lions and surrounded by foliate scrolls. The Torah shield is surrounded by an internal raised line with flat and blank edges.

Two rings are attached at the shield's backside.
