A painted curtain forms the "ark" against the background of which the Torah scroll is placed. Inside the image of a drawn curtain two lions flank a depiction of the stone Tablets of the Law (inscribed with words from the Ten Commandments) surmounted by a crown.

The painting depicts a square tower with a semicircular arch and a rectangular black entrance. A wide road in the foreground leads to this entrance. The tower and a small cubic mausoleum topped by a dome are attached or adjacent to a flat wall behind them. A forest stretches to right and left in the background.

Before the renovation of 2009 this painting was inscribed ירושלים - שער הזהב (Jerusalem, the Golden Gate), but after the renovation the inscription reads:  קכד שמעת חצריק [קבר שמעון הצדיק] (Tomb of Simeon the Righteous).

The painting depicts a square tower with a semicircular arch and a rectangular black entrance. A wide road in the foreground leads to this entrance. The tower and a small cubic mausoleum topped by a dome are attached or adjacent to a flat wall behind them. A forest stretches to right and left in the background.

Before the renovation of 2009 this painting was inscribed ירושלים - שער הזהב (Jerusalem, the Golden Gate), but after the renovation the inscription reads:  קכד שמעת חצריק [קבר שמעון הצדיק] (Tomb of Simeon the Righteous).
