19 Remarks
20 Description The drawing represents a portait of an old couple in interior. They sit on bent-wood chairs at a small round table on a high leg. The old woman sits to the left. Her stooped figure is turned to the right in profile. Her left hand lies on the table while the right one lies on her knees. The head of the woman wraped with a large kerchief is lowered. She wears a loose blouse, a long skirt and shoes with heeles and with toes slightly turned up. The thickset old man sits frontally to the right of the table with feet set apart and with his hands leaning against the knees. He has a bifurkated beard and wears a peaked cap, a frock-coat, a tie, trousers and square-toed shoes. On the background there is a large window partly closed with a long curtain embroidered with flowers.
