Description |
The picture represents a pogrom scene victims. A dead is lying in the center forepart of the composition topped by an atonished kneeling woman.
The man wears a kipa, his left eye is open when his right is nailed by a pin, and a shovel is nailed in his body. The woman, opened mouth and big eyes, wears a kerchief, has her arms open downwards to both sides.
On the left side, part of a bearded jew in profile, hooked nose, wears glasses and a peaked cap, is holding an open book with both hands.
In the background a destroyed house is depicted. Russian inscription is written on the back: S.B.Yudovin, Zhertva pogroma. (Victim of a pogrom).
