  Torah Ark curtain doneted to the Pest Jewish Gymnasium

The purple parokhet is made of silk damask in floral pattern. The parokhet is rectangular. It is decorated by two columns made of Stars^of^David~ surmounted by multifoiled arch. A lamp hangs from the top of the arch. The^Ark^of^the^Covenant~ appears in the arch. It is surmounted by Tables^of^the^Covenant~ flanked by Cherubim. At the centre of the parokhet appears an inscription which reads: שלש רגלים##תחג לי בשנה##ושמחת בחגך "(Ex. 23:14) followed by: And thou shalt rejoice in thy feast (based on Deut. 16:14)" A dedicatory inscription appears in the lower part of the parokhet. Vines decorate the upper part of the parokhet. Two medallions bearing the^priestly^benediction^hands appears in the upper corners. Ribbons and bottons are attached to the borders of the parokhet. The dedicatory inscription is embroidered in outline letters and reads : נדבת האשה פערל בת הח' )החבר( ר' שמעון##אשת הח' ר' דוד בן הח' ר' דוב הכהן קאסאב##לבהכ"נ בגמנסיה של ק"ק )קהילה קדושה( פעשט ת"רפ"ה "A donation of the woman Pearl daughter of the scholar (int.) R. Simon##the wife of the scholar R. David son of the scholar R. Dov Hacohen Kasav##the the synagogue in the gymnasium of the holy congregation Pest, (5)685=(1925)" Rings for hanging the parokhet are attached to the upper border of the parokhet.
