  Torah scroll staves

The wooden Staves are composed of a top and bottom plate, a bar and a head. The upper plate has undulating edges and is decorated on its upper face with carved concentric circles and a row of decorative nails (most of them are missing). The bar is cylindrical. The cylindrical head is carved with a spiral pattern at its base, above which is a silver band with undulating edges, bearing an engraved inscription: "נעשה ונגמר##שנה תרמ"ז" "Made and completed##in the year (5)647=1887"## The band is surmounted by an ivory (??) ball carved with rings, and an undulating section with a carved spiral pattern. The apex is a wooden ball carved with a spiral pattern, surmounted by a glob.
