20 Description This rectangular panel, is situated at the east end of the central nave, adjacent the 'zodiac' panel. The panel is divided to two asymmetric sections. The lower panel seems to depict Daniel in the lions den. The upper panel - a nartive scene. In the lower panel a palm is depicted situated to the left. Left of the palm a lions tail can be seen. Above the hand and the tail part of an hebrew inscription the inscriptions read as follows:## אל## El perhaps the end of the hebrew name : Daniel The upper panel, depicts a flourishing bush on the left end situated above small hills. Flanking the bush from the right a depiction of what seems to be, the upper part of an animal. The panel is framed by parallel lines. A short black line situated below the depction of 'Daniel in the lions den' implies that another panel was probably depicted bellow the latter.

20 Description דביר ] [ # יושיע יודן # ] [ דיהב. חומה The panel is situated in the south part of the narthex, adjacent to the southern entrance of the synagogue. The panel depicts an hebrew inscription situated within a concave hexagon; six point star - which is formed by interlaced stripes. The inscription, composed of three lines, reads as follows : Remembered ( ) Yoshu'a Yudan ( ) who gave. Within the left triangle of the six point star, two pomegranates are depicted. The strips which form the six point star are composed of different patterns: wave pattern, guilloche pattern, and an asymmetrical shaded band pattern. It is possible, that this geometric fragment was part of a carpet mosaic. Above the six point star to the east,is a hebrew inscription framed by three stripes. The inscription, reads as follows: 'Homa'. Above the inscription, a row of alternating lotus flowers situated above a guilloche pattern is depicted. North of the latter a part of a circular pattern composed of tanget squares can be seen.
