The musical instruments (a drum with sticks, a horn, a violin, another horn, a contrabass and three flutes) hang from a horisontal bar. This painting also may allude to Psalm 137: 1-2: "By the Rivers of Babylon ... We hanged our harps upon the willows."

Lower part of the painting was destroyed after 1968; it could be seen on Zusya Efron's photograph.

20 Description

The musical instruments (a drum with sticks, a horn, a violin, another horn, a contrabass and three flutes) hang from a horisontal bar. This painting also may allude to Psalm 137: 1-2: "By the Rivers of Babylon ... We hanged our harps upon the willows."

Lower part of the painting was destroyed after 1968; it could be seen on Zusya Efron's photograph.
