20 Description The bowl is flat and decorated on both sides. The center of the inner side is decorated with a medallion bearing a Star^of^David. The Star^of^David bears an inscription in linear letters: ציון, "Zion".  The medallion is encircled by eight, pointed, trefoil arches, each bearing a different motif. The motifs in clockwise order are: the Western Wall (13806); a bird with a fish in its mouth; two man in a boatwhich floats on water; two ducks; two stags; two domed buildings (13806); a peacock; four fish. The arches are encircled by a band bearing an inscription in square letters : "תזכו לשנים רבות ציון בן יעקב אשר נולד ר"ח )ראש חודש( חשון תרע"ב ר"פ ת"ל ו"ל )רפאות תהי לך ושקוי לעצמותיך( לחיים בשמחת ירושתו )ירושלים תכונן ותבנה(." "May you be granted many years, Zion son of Jacob Asher, born on the new moon of Heshvan, (5)672 (1911) Cheers for the joy of, may Jerusalem be built and established". (Prov.3:8). A floral band, which encircles the bowl's inner rim, is interspersed with cartouches each bearing part of the inscription in square, linear letters, which reads as follows: נכתב ט"ז סיון בשנת התרצ"ח, "Written on the 16th of Sivan, 5698 (1938)". The exterior side of the bowl is decorated with a Star^of^David in the centre, and a foliate band around the rim.
