20 Description The inverted pear-shaped Torah finial consists of a shaft, a body and an apex. The smooth cylindrical tapering shaft is encircled by a ring at the bottom. It supports a filigree body formed of a concave bottom topped by a round dome. The body is decorated with a rich array of foliate motifs arranged in a whorl of leaves radiating from the top and bottom. Two inverted concave circlets, shaped as open flowers, are set on top of the dome and support a globed shaped apex. A few rings carrying chains and bells are attached to the lower part of the dome.
