20 Description A rectangular initial word panel in the top half of the text space, encloses the word which opens the daily morning service, רבון, "Master." The word is written in burnished gold letters against an alternating background of blue, green and lilac. The panel is framed with a red border decorated with gold tracery. Framing the entire text space is a thick decorative border with multicolored symmetrical floral and foliate motifs set against a gold background. The motifs extend upwards from a pair of vases set one above the other on the right and left margins of the frame, and meet at the center of the top margin. A coat of arms flanked by cornucopia in vibrant pink, overflowing with green foliage is set in the middle of the lower margin within a multicolored scrolled foliate motif with flowers. The coat of arms comprises a blue medallion enclosing a rampant animal, possibly a deer. In the top right corner of the text space, suspended from the inner side of the frame is a small initial word panel framed on two sides by a pink border. The panel encloses the word, אלה, "These are," written in burnished gold against a blue background. The word opens the instructions to the prayers which are written in semicursive script.

20 Description Two rectangular initial word panels framed by a black fillet border are set within the text space. The first, in the center right of the text space, encloses the initial word of Psalm 150, הללויה, "Praise the Lord," which is part of the daily morning prayers. The initial word is written in burnished gold letters against the parchment ground, surrounded by three sections colored blue, magenta and green decorated with white tracery. Attached to the right side of the panel, within the outer margin, is an inverted triangle executed in gold with a toothed border, filled with interlace interspersed with green, blue and magenta dots. The second panel, at the bottom right of the text space encloses the initial word, ויברך, "And he blessed," continuing the morning prayers. The word is written in gold on the parchment ground and is surrounded by three colored sections. An additional gold frame within the black fillet border surrounds the sections. Extending from the right side of the panel into the outer margin, is a green flowering stem from which issue floral scrolls, apparently executed by a later hand.

Erasures of a 17th century censor cross out the following text at the top of the page, שהם משתחוים להבל וריק ומתפללים לאל לא יושיע, "They bow to vanity and emptiness and pray to a god that cannot save." This passage, referring to non-Jewish worship, was traditionally erased by offical censors as being offensive to the ruling power. As a result, the passage was omitted from prayer books of certain rites.
