Description |
In the lower part of the page is a panel illustrating the Yiddish inscription: "דס איז דם גלייכנט וויא )אברהם אבינו עה'( מאר אלי דיא בילדר צו טלמגין בייא זיין פאטר )תרח(" "Abraham smashing the idols of his father" depicting in an open landscape, the young Abraham is kneeling while lifting a hamme in both hands and smashing a human idol to pieces. Around him are scattered fragments of a torso of another idol. Behind him are the houses and turreted towers of a town extending over both sides of the river banks. A cross (?) and flags are seen on the domed edifice and just a flag on one of the buildings. |
