The limestone tesserae are arranged in curved lines to form the shape and shading of the birds. One to three lines of
background lines surround the birds and one to three lines follow the medallion frame. The density of the tesserae per 10cm2
is not uniform. The density is 10x10 for the bodies and 10x12 for the heads with a lower density of 9X9 for the background. The
colors of the tesserae are off-white, white, brown, light and dark pink and dark ochre.
