20 Description The silver and gilded Torah shield is rectangular and terminates with a semi circular arch. A rectangular plaque is depicted at its center decorated with a vegetal pattern. It is flanked and supported by two birds. The upper central part consists of the Tables of the Covenant inscribed with the opening lines of the Decalogue, five in each side, and supported by two rampant lions which reveal their tongues. They are surmounted by a crown. The shield's background is decorated with a design of interlaced foliate and geometrical scrolls with flowers. The Torah shield is framed by an internal raised line bearing a vegetal decoration with flat and wavy edges. Two rings are mounted at the shield's backside. Two vertical slits are cut at the plaque's top.
