20 Description The free standing Hanukkah lamp consists of eight oil containers, a back wall, side walls and a drip tray. The oval oil containershave a loop at the edge for the wick and a apike in the center for a candle. The containers sit above a rectangular drip that is connected to the back wall. The wavy back wall has a conch surmounted by a shield in the center flanked by scrolls that terminate in a flower.The top of each scroll is surmounted by a capital. A spread winged eagle is perched on the top of the back wall and faces left. The side walls are composed of interlacing scrolls. The legs are composed of scrolls as well.

:HS : There are two hallmarks on the object: 1. The hallmark depicts the cypher 13 in a circle surmounted by an unclear lettter and flanked by the cypher 1866 in an arched frame. This is a Austro Hungarian authority mark used between 1825-1866. cf.Divis, p.222 #1901 2. The hallmark depicts the letters AW in a rectangular frame. This is possibly the mark of Anton Wesley who was active from 1856. cf Hrasky XIV, p.164 #485.
