20 Description The Torah^binder is a long narrow cloth, which bears an inscription for the circumcision ceremony, accompanied by illustrations. The inscription is painted in square stylized filled letters and reads: נתן בן כה' )כבוד הרב( יאקב נולד למ'ט )למזל טוב( יום ג' ט' שבט תקס"ג לפ"ק ה' יגדלהו ]לתורה[ ולחופה ולמעשים טובים אמן סלה. "Nathan son of Rabbi Jacob born in good luck, Tuesday, the ninth of Shevat [5]563 (1803). May God raise him to Torah, huppah to good deeds. Amen selah." The word Torah is illustrated by an open Torah scroll bearing an inscription which reads: זכרו תורת משה עבדי "Remember ye the law of Moses my servant" (Mal.3:22). The word huppah is illustrated by a wedding ceremony during which the groom places the ring on the bride's finger, as they stand under the huppah. The month Shevat is illustrated by its zodiac sign, Bucket, depicted as a hand holding a bucket. The sign is accompanied by the inscription: מזל דלי ## "The zodiac sign Bucket". A cartouche flanked by a deer and surmounted by a crown bearing a dedicatory inscription precedes the circumcision ceremony inscription. The inscription in the cartouche reads: ז"נ" )זאת נידב(## הילד ## נתן בן כ"הרר )כבוד הרב רבי( ##יאקב שליט )שיחיה לאורך ימים טובים(. "This is the donation of the child Nathan son of the honorable Rabbi R. Jacob may he live many good days". Flower-bearing branches and a cluster of grapes are situated above and below the main inscription.
