Description |
Within the title panel, placed on a magenta ground with blue sky, is a group of people, involved in discussion. On the right a bearded man is sitting on a high-backed wooden chair adorned with small stars of David. With his right hand he is holding up a gold astrolabe; his left hand is resting on an open book lying on his lap. To his left are five men in two discussion groups, their hands are raised in speech. Above the group is a deep blue starry sky with a moon and a shining sun. The entire text column is surrounded by a decorated foliate frame consisting of leaves coiling round a bar or springing from it, combined with stylized flowers and gold dots. In the middle of each side of the frame is a round cartouche. The upper one contains a pheasant, the right-hand one a partridge, the left a cock, and the one at the bottom a peacock. |
