The picture features a boy with a palm tree in his hand, and a lion, a sheep, and a wolf standing peacefully next to him. Below is an inscription in Yiddish, (משיחס צייטען) "messianic times". The artist converted Isaiah’s prophecy: The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them (Isaiah 11, 6) into visual images. The model was an early 20th cent. post card, equally popular among Jews and Christians. The image of a human figure is extremely rare in the synagogues murals.
