This Cubist three-quarter portrait of the writer Bergelson shows him from the shoulders up, looking to the right. His high forehead and the bridge of his long crooked nose are brightly colored and sharply modelled. He has large dark eyes with heavy lids and there is a dark spot under his right eye. He has a thin face with sunken cheeks, big ears, dark wavy hair and a clipped moustache above thin lips. He wears a white shirt, a tie and a dark jacket.
