20 Description The drawing represents a portrayal of a middle aged jewess. She is shown full length in a half-turn to the left. Her face is shown in profile. The left hand is holding the wrist of the right one. ##One can notice a certain deliberate primitiveness of the drawing. The shoulders of the woman are shown frontally as on ancient Egyptian reliefs so that the right hand seems to be longer than the left one. The woman is wearing a dark green jacket with a large turn-down collar. The collar and the lower edge of the jacket are decorated with a blue piping. A blue skirt edged with black is reaching the calves of the legs with a pair of black high boots on them. A wollen shawl is covering the woman's head. The background of the drawing is grey, though only the central part of the drawing is covered with paint.

36 Summary and Remarks
The play "The Quality of Judgement" by D.Bergelson (originally "Midat ha din" - a cabalistic hebrew term denoting a quality of Divine judgement) was put on stage in Moscow GOSSET (State Hebrew Theatre) by S.Michoels in 1933. The performance was dedicated to the 16th anniversary of the October revolution. The action of the play takes place in a schtetl in the period of the Civil war (1918-1921), where the representative of ChK (Commitee Extraordinary) Philippov is establishing new order. It is unknown for what character of the play this design was created.
