20 Description

The entire Book of Jonah is written twice on each side of the yellowish paper (see ma. 2018.6). On side v, the entire Book is written in the lower two-thirds of the sheet in long uneven lines across the width of the sheet. The text is divided into four horizontal sections with a gap inbetween each section, each slightly wider than the previous one. The first three sections are written in small dense cursive letters. The last (fourth) section begins with letters the same size as above (10 mm-15 mm), and gradually increase in size until reaching a height of 30-40 mm in the last section on the sixth line. Chapter 1 of Jonah 1 is written in 5 lines in the fourth section. The name of the prophet is written on the first line in slightly larger and thicker block letters (Jonah1:1). יונה The second section is composed of Jonah 2:1-10, and the third section is composed of Jonah 2:11-4:1. The name of the prophet is on the first line of the third section, again written in larger thicker block letters. יונה The letter "Ayn" of the word "wind on the third line of the third section is larger than the rest of the section. "סער"
