Fol. 44v: The illustrative panel of Elijah ascending to Heaven is depicted at the upper part of the page next to the corresponding text of II King 2:1-14. In a hilly landscape with a river and a city in the background, is Elisha standing by the bank of the river with raised hands looking up at Elijah in the "chariot of fire" pulled by two horses into the clouds, his mantle is falling from him. On the other side of the river three more figures are gesturing and looking at Elijah
