© Center for Jewish Art, Photographer: Radovan, Zev, 11.2.1992
P. 27 is composed of two pictures. The upper colored is devided into three sections. The central section represents Rachel's Tomb in a round arch with gables above and a caption below. Jacob is depicted on the right, in a niche, on a net decoration, with a medalion above and his name below (see Ma. 1053.45). Rachel is painted on the left, in a niche, on a grid decoration, with a medalion above and her name below (see 1053.46). The central section of the picture represents Rachel's tomb as a partly vaulted solitude building. In the left foreground is a solitude tree with a foliage which shades the building. In the background are starry sky. Above the central arched frame, within a small arch, is written in Hebrew block, black letters on blue background: "קבר רחל" "Rachel's Tomb" In the central frame, below the central picture a part of Jeramiah 31:15 is quated, in two lines, in Hebrew block black letters on a green background: "קול ברמה נשמע נהי בכי תמרורים רחל מבכה על בניה מאנה להינחם" The lower picture is a reproduction of the construction register.
